Kevin Yankovich is a 26-year law enforcement veteran with the Columbus Division of Police, bringing decades of experience in patrol operations, officer development, and field training. Throughout his career, Kevin has served as a patrol officer, Field Training Officer, and, for the past seven years, as the Field Training Coordinator, where he has played a key role in guiding, managing, and strengthening the development of new officers transitioning from the academy to the field.
Kevin brings extensive practical and instructional experience to the field training environment. As an OPOTA-trained instructor, he has taught the 40-hour Basic Field Training Officer Course and understands the importance of mentorship, consistency, documentation, and accountability in developing professional law enforcement officers. His experience as both an FTO and Field Training Coordinator gives him a well-rounded perspective on the challenges facing trainees, trainers, and agencies, making him a valuable resource for officers seeking to improve their effectiveness as field trainers and leaders.
